Q4 at an office tech dealership has a familiar rhythm. Reps are pushing to hit quota, customers are deciding what to do with the budget they have left, and the calendar keeps shrinking as the holidays get closer. For most teams, the simple goal for these final weeks is to get as many deals signed as possible before December 31.

The dealers who walk into January with momentum tend to work two tracks at once. They close the year with urgency, and they use those same weeks to set up the next one. Here’s what that looks like in practice.

Track One: Closing the Year Strong

Year-end deals tend to stall in the gaps between steps, like a quote that takes two days to build, a credit application waiting on paperwork, or a signed order that sits until January. Strong dealers spend Q4 closing those gaps.

Get accurate quotes out the same day

Customers making year-end decisions are often weighing more than one option, and the dealer who delivers a clean, complete proposal first usually sets the terms of the conversation. That means hardware, service, supplies, and lease options from multiple finance partners in a single proposal, built from current pricing, without reps hunting through spreadsheets.

Clear credit early

Nothing slows a December deal like waiting on a credit decision. Dealers using SalesChain’s finance partner integrations can submit credit applications straight from the deal record and see decisions come back in the same system, so approvals keep pace with the rest of the deal.

Help customers put remaining budget to work

Plenty of customers reach December with budget they need to use before it resets. A quick check-in to ask what’s left, followed by an option that fits (an upgrade, added service, or a device for a growing team), can turn that remaining budget into a closed deal. Your CRM is a good place to build the call list, starting with accounts that have open opportunities or recent conversations.

Keep signed deals moving to delivery and invoice

A signature in December only helps if the equipment gets delivered, installed, and invoiced on schedule. Keystone Digital Imaging automated its delivery workflow in SalesChain and cut its DSO in half. When order processing, scheduling, and billing hand off automatically, year-end deals turn into revenue faster.

Track Two: Setting Up 2027 Now

The last few weeks of December tend to slow down once the final deals are signed. Forward-looking dealers use that window to make sure January starts with a full pipeline, clean data, and current pricing.

Find your Q1 pipeline in your lease portfolio

Leases maturing in early 2027 are some of the warmest opportunities a dealer has. Portfolio Sync brings lease data from seven finance partners (U.S. Bank, GreatAmerica, Canon Financial Services, DLL, LEAF, Wells Fargo, and PEAC Solutions) into one searchable portfolio matched to your e-automate records, so reps can see which customers are approaching end of term and start upgrade conversations before a competitor does.

Clean up your CRM before you forecast

A 2027 forecast is only as reliable as the pipeline behind it. Closing out dead opportunities, updating contacts, and confirming deal stages now gives sales leaders an accurate starting point and gives reps a clear view of where to focus in January.

Update pricing before reps start quoting

Price changes often take effect at the start of the year. Getting product catalogs and pricing updated in your CPQ before the first January quotes go out protects margin and saves reps from re-issuing proposals built on old numbers.

Review your recurring revenue mix

Q4 is a natural time to step back and look at MRR across your customer base. Which accounts are covered by service and supplies agreements, which are still transactional, and where could managed services or new product lines fit? Those answers shape the offerings and sales goals you build for the year ahead.

One Platform for Both Tracks

Closing the year and planning the next one can pull a dealership in two directions at once. SalesChain brings CRM, CPQ, finance partner integrations, and delivery workflows together in one platform built only for office tech dealers, so the system that helps your team close December deals also gives you a clean start for 2027.
