At a glance: What Do You Need to Know?

Microsoft is deprecating their current integration utility and is requiring SalesChain to use their new “Graph” Integration set.

All SalesChain users who rely on Single Sign On or our Outlook 365 email and calendar sync must make system changes before Microsoft’s official cutoff date of April 1st, 2027. There is no additional fee for this service.

Customers Must:

  • Contact SalesChain Support to whitelist an IT Admin with login credentials to our new IT Portal.
  • This IT admin must grant consent for SSO and configure Graph in order to remain active, to remain current, and to avoid issues. Stepwise instructions on how to proceed with these required updates are included in the portal’s “Documentation” section.

Because Microsoft is already allocating resources away from their legacy integrations, we encourage our users to move over as soon as possible to avoid issues like system slowness and challenges logging in.

We will be hosting a webinar on 10/20/2026 at 11am ET to walk through setup, and to answer any questions regarding the upgrade or anyone using MSO for the first time. A recording of this webinar will be made available on our Webinar Archive.

First: Single Sign On (SSO) Login Procedure

First are updates to our integrated Single Sign On (SSO) login procedure.

Note: Companies not yet on SSO can continue to sign in with their current User ID and password. However, for the best and most secure experience, we recommend updating to SSO when you update your Outlook integration to Graph as described below.

  • What is happening
    • Microsoft is deprecating the “Implicit Flow” SSO login process we’d previously connected to.
  • Why is this happening
    • This update is a response to a security flaw in which your Secret Key can be intercepted, and people can steal your session and log in.
    • The new login procedure relies on an admin granting consent for SSO instead.
  • Who does this effect?
    • All SalesChain Users are using Single Sign On.
  • What are the benefits of the new way of doing it?
    • You may continue to login to SalesChain.
    • If you’re not yet using SSO,
      • Moving onto SSO means you don’t have to enter your userID and password every time.
      • Plus, your SSO process is more secure and represents your organization-level security preferences.
    • What are the differences
      • To the end user, the login process will essentially be the same.
    • What do I need to do to Update?
      • Follow the Procedures in section 3

Note: You’ll begin to see a notice page at login if you have not yet configured this SSO change. This will guide you to the new sign-in page, even before it has been configured.

Second: “Graph” Calendar and Email Sync

The second update affects how your calendar and emails are kept in lockstep between SalesChain and Outlook 365. Graph is Microsoft’s new supported platform for Outlook calendar and email sync and will need to be configured to maintain that flow of activity.

  • Why is this important?
    • Our existing method of integrating with Outlook, Exchange Web Services (EWS), is being deprecated.
    • As of October 1st, 2026, Microsoft began turning off “EWS” by default for Exchange Online. Users still on EWS may begin experiencing system slowness. As of April 1st, 2027, EWS will be End Of Life(EOL).
  • What are the benefits of the new way of doing it?
    • Where EWS synchronization runs only every 5 minutes or so, Graph will offer synchronization constantly. Users can expect activity changes in Outlook to show up in SalesChain in closer to 5 seconds.
  • What are the differences
    • Calendar sync brings in appointments current, through six months into the future rather than all-time.
    • Note: We recommend re-creating all recurring events after your first sync. Upon the first sync we grab all appointments (including recurring ones) starting today through the next 6 months. For all subsequent times an appointment is created, events mirror Outlook regardless of how far in the future an appointment might be, and how many items in a recurring series.
  • What is the same?
    • Recurring events sync as well, changes must be made in outlook.
    • Email sync pulls outlook emails into SalesChain and matches them with the right customer as before.
  • What do I need to do to Update?
    • Follow the Procedures in section 3

Third: How to Get Current: The NEW SalesChain IT Portal

Because we are updating both of these projects at once, we took the opportunity to add a new IT Admin portal, to help manage your account’s synchronization and credentials more easily across your organization.

  • How do I configure these updated integrations?
    • Have your company’s Microsoft Administrator Contact the SalesChain Helpdesk to create a login to the IT Portal. Once SalesChain’s Help Desk team has whitelisted the user, they’ll be able to log into the IT Portal.
    • Next, your SalesChain IT Admin must navigate to com/it-portal/login
    • There, your IT Admin must follow the instructions for configuring each of these integrations listed within the IT Portal, under the Documentation tab.
  • What is new within this portal?
    • Your Admin will receive email updates as your secret key approaches its expiration.
    • This portal also contains a Microsoft sync error log to flag any appointments or emails that were not properly synced.
